About Al-Rudaf Park and its history
A large public park in Taif set among rock formations.
Al-Rudaf Park is a large public park in the city of Taif in Makkah Region, located in the southern part of the city. It is distinguished by its setting among formations of large rounded granite boulders, a characteristic feature of the Taif landscape. The rocks were left in place and the gardens and paths were laid out around them.
The park was created as part of the Taif municipality's attention to public gardens in a city long known as a summer retreat, visited by residents of Makkah, Jeddah and other parts of Saudi Arabia seeking relief from the summer heat.
The park has wide areas of grass and shade trees, walking paths, children's playgrounds, seating areas for families and a fountain where illuminated water displays are held in the evening. Seasonal events take place in its grounds, including some connected with the Taif rose festival. Al-Rudaf is one of the largest and best-known parks in Taif and a principal open space for the city's residents and visitors.
